Looking Glass ReWondered
Phyllis Chen, Rob Dietz and The Department of Entertainment Technology will be working together to make technology into art. Phyllis Chen brings her talent and insight as a concert musician and multimedia artist. The department of Entertainment Technology will collaborate with Phyllis Chen to create the productionLooking Glass Rewondered. This production is the newest multi-media creation from toy pianist, composer and performance artist Phyllis Chen. Praised by The New York Times for her “delightful quirkiness matched with interpretive sensitivity,” this trailblazer sets her sights on renowned author Lewis Carroll with this latest piece. Combining forces with video artist Rob Dietz, the two have merged their unique talents in a work inspired by themes and objects from Carroll’s prized novels. Join them on a whimsical and thought provoking journey into the fascinating world of this innovative writer. Down the Rabbit-Hole is scored for toy pianos, music boxes, electronics, live and edited video and amplified objects. Rounding out a mesmerizing show is Ms. Chen’s earlier semi-autobiographical work The Memoirist.
